Another illustrated map for a bat mitzvah. This time it will be printed as part of the invitation, which is design to be like a music book.

This first is just an illustrator design…

And here is the holiday card I sent out this year. I started with several pencil sketches, then brought it into photoshop to what you see below. From there I moved the deer to illustrator to fine tune the lines. Since my paper cutting machine couldn’t handle the fine details, I hand cut each deer from paper to make a layered card. Eventually I will get photos of the finished product. I varied the paper colors a bit, but primarily used the gold, silver cream and kraft paper.

First a design for couples baby shower. I will have to make some matching pieces for this as I am quite fond of the dressed up bears.

Second is a holiday greeting card design. The holidays are being over advertised this year and its not even thanksgiving…

I bought a new sketchbook at the Minnesota Renaissance Faire, leatherbound with handmade cotton paper. It’s a bit small, but it has been fun for studying floral designs and patterns. The paper is quite absorbent, so it’s been trial and error to see what does and doesn’t work.
Most of these were studies of wallpapers, art deco designs and fashion fabrics that I’ve accumulated over the years, except the halloween piece.
Two more patterns, this time watercolor. The second one was a study of another pattern I saw, no idea of the source though. Edited in photoshop to tile. I need to try new not pink and green colors for patterns…
